First Blog

Well, I never thought I'd ever say this, but welcome to my Blog. 

My name is Brian Onorato.  I'm a 21 year old transfer student to Rutgers University this fall.  I'm from northern Bergen County NJ and am pretty excited to be here.  As you can see from the background on this webpage I am a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan but please don't talk to me about it today; last night was one of our toughest losses in a few years. I'm a fan of all sports though and still play some semi-competitively.

I never thought that I would ever have a blog.  For years I sat at my computer as my peers made blogs and laughed to myself.  I would say things like "No one cares about your stance on economic policy" or "Are you kidding me?  Wait until a future employer sees this!!".  I guess I never understood why someone would feel the need to share their personal opinion with the world.  This is why I am not a big fan of social networking sites; I feel that they create more evil than good.  I use my facebook to keep up with a minimum number of people from my old school. 

That being said, the process for making this blog was pretty simple; navigate to a webpage, sign in via google accounts, pick a url and type away.  Any computer literate person can have a blog up and running within 5 minutes and this is what I feel is the blog's biggest downfall... ANYONE can make a blog.  I understand freedom of speech and I fully believe in our constitution.  I don't believe in blogs.

Maybe these next few weeks will change my mind about blogging.  Maybe not.  I am open to try new things.  This is something completely different so bare with me.  I think it will definitely be an interesting way to learn from each other though.  Until next time,
